Benn Grim, a Connecticut native, has been active in the underground hip-hop community since 1996. That same year the Mizery Crew was formed. Eight friends from Bristol CT, recording only posse tracks in an attic. Metalheart manipulated a DR 660 drum machine and Technics sampler, all while rapping on beat simultaneously. If one man fucked up, they all had to start over, recording only to tape. Benn holds membership in various hardcore, hip hop, and graffiti crews, some of which being The Connecticut Brotherhood, TA (The Authority) and his main musical collective, Cardboard City. In 2007 Benn released his first solo offering, The Nutmeg EP aptly titled for his love of his home state.

In 2010, Benn launched his second release through Pig Food Records etitled Blah Sides, a compilation of all his favorite tracks he had recorded over the previous five years. Benn has collaborated with many artists and producers over the years including but not limited to, Chapter 7, F Sean Martin, Glassjaw frontman Daryl Palumbo, Dood Computer, Adam Bomb, Plush Lush, Dezmatic, Yak Ballz, PJ Katz, Grizzly Grimace, Elsphinx, Cage, and his brother, partner in crime and fellow Mizery Crew member Timmy Wiggins.
